Biology and Emotional Health Are Not Competing Explanations
One of the greatest disservices we've done in healthcare is acting as though illness must be either physical or emotional.
I don't believe that's true.
Your biology matters.
Your nervous system matters.
Your lived experiences matter.
These aren't competing ideas.
They're interconnected parts of the same human being.
Ignoring either side leaves an incomplete picture.
My work integrates functional medicine, clinical nutrition, and evidence-informed mind-body medicine because I know firsthand that meaningful recovery deserves a more comprehensive approach.
what recovery means to me
Recovery isn't about becoming perfect.
It's not about eliminating every symptom.
It's about helping you understand your body instead of fearing it.
It's about having enough energy to participate in your life again, to be yourself again.
It's about making plans without wondering if you'll have to cancel.
It's about sitting at dinner thinking about the conversation instead of the food on your plate.
It's about laughing with your family without mentally calculating whether you'll pay for it tomorrow.
It's about reclaiming the parts of your life that illness has slowly taken away.
That's what we're working toward.
Together.
